Alarm Industry Association Signs Agreement with
ChoicePoint™ to Provide Pre-Employment

The
Central Station Alarm
Association (CSAA), a trade association representing the central
station alarm monitoring industry, has signed an agreement with ChoicePoint
Services Inc. to offer a new service to the alarm industry in the
pre-employment screening arena through CSAA’s web site,
www.csaaul.org.
Per
the agreement, ChoicePoint tailored a pre-employment screening package
to the alarm industry, offering three levels of pre-employment
screening—from basic screens for entry-level personnel to
comprehensive background checks for high-level and sensitive
positions. The CSAA Hire
Screen web site, www.csaaul.org, will also provide subscribers with
the flexibility to select other services, such as drug screening.
Through ChoicePoint, a comprehensive background check can
usually be delivered within approximately three to four days.
Because
subscribers individually contract with ChoicePoint, billing and
Internet access to submit, monitor and retrieve reports is controlled
by each subscriber. CSAA will NOT have access to any screening
information.
ChoicePoint
can also offer customized batch services in the case of acquisitions
or other high-volume requests.

now, there had been little standardization of the screening of
employees. Companies were using anything from “Joe’s Detective
Agency” to fairly sophisticated regional companies to handle their
pre-employment screening needs. We believe that subscribing to
ChoicePoint will raise the bar for pre-employment screening to a
