Honeywell/United Technologies Stop Acquisition Talks

Honeywell International Inc. announced that it has ended acquisition talks with United Technologies Corp. and that it is considering other buyout offers. Spokesmen for the two companies declined further comment.

According to reports by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), The New York Times, and CNBC, General Electric (GE) has made a formal bid for Honeywell. 

Other analysts have also identified Tyco Intl. Ltd. and Germany's Siemens AG as other possible suitors.
