Methods of Transporting

CSAA Announces Agreement with
Mendelssohn Customs Brokers
for NASS EX 2005

CSAA has signed an agreement with Mendelssohn Customs and Transportation (A Division of Livingston International, Inc.) to expedite shipments to and from NASS EX 2005 in Montreal. Mendelssohn is a market leader in specialized services for the convention and trade show industry and has specialized in conventions for over 20 years.

CSAA has registered NASS EX 2005 with Canada Customs and has been granted meeting import privileges. This means that booths and display materials can be brought into Canada on a Temporary Import Bond (brought in under Mendelssohn’s bond) which means taxes (based on the value of the booth & display items) will be waived.

In addition, “Border to Show” has been granted. This means that the facility where the event is taking place becomes a Canada Customs bonded facility allowing for the customs clearance of shipments to be done right at Le Centre Sheraton and not held up at point of entry into Canada. This process offers you and your exhibitors a number of advantages such as: reduced costs, faster border crossings and quicker set-up at the facility.

Complete details on how exhibitors at NASS EX 2005 can ship display materials easily and hassle free will be sent to registered exhibitors in a packet from Clarkson-Conway, Inc., the official NASS EX 2005 exposition services company.

Bring it With You

It has come to our attention that some exhibitors are planning to carry exhibit materials for NASS EX 2005 with them on the plane. Entry into Canada with these goods may prove to make your clearance through Canadian Customs more difficult. To avoid any difficulties at the border we strongly suggest that your exhibit materials be shipped directly to Mendelssohn Customs & Transportation Services in Montreal.

If you still plan to carry exhibit materials with you, download the letter signed by Andre Legault (see link below) granting NASS EX “Portal to Portal” status and allowing the importation of show goods on a temporary basis.

In addition to the letter the “Goods for Exhibitions and Conventions” form should be downloaded and completed prior to reaching Canadian Customs. Please keep this form with you for your entry and departure from Canada.
