Updated 04/10/01 Isaac Papier Receives Prestigious
1999 Stanley C. Lott Award On October 20th, the Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA) awarded its highest award, the Stanley C. Lott Memorial Award, to Isaac Papier, Managing Engineer of two Engineering Services Departments at Underwriters Laboratories (UL) for his contributions towards raising the standards of the alarm industry and for his efforts in promoting the benefits of UL-Listed Central Station services to AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction), the insurance industry and others. The award, which honors the memory of former CSAA President Stanley C. Lott, is designed to recognize significant contributions to the central station industry. It was presented by CSAA President Lou T. Fiore during the President's Reception at CSAA's Annual Meeting in Maui, Hawaii. Isaac Papier is responsible for the department charged with standards development and testing of fire and burglar alarm detection, processing and signaling equipment, CCTV, and the Certificate Service program which provides Listing of alarm companies and Certification of individual fire and/or burglar alarm installations. Mr. Papier has been in charge of this Department since 1988. In addition, Mr. Papier became in 1998 the Managing Engineer of UL's Electromagnetic Compatibility Department, which provides global EMC testing services. He is a member of the Technical Committee on Supervising Station Fire Alarm Systems and an alternate on the Technical Committee of Fundamentals of Fire Alarm Systems of the National Fire Alarm code. He is also a member of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers, a director of the Fire Detection Institute, and a member of CSAA's insurance Liaison Committee. He is the vice-chairman of UL's Burglary Protection Council. Mr. Papier holds an Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Illinois and is a registered Professional Engineer.
