Updated 04/10/01 "What's It All About, NAMTSE?" CSAA has received a number of inquires from within the alarm industry and industries on the periphery of our industry as to the purpose of the North American Monitoring Technology Symposium and Exhibition (NAMTSE). Since this meeting is a radical departure from past CSAA Mid-Year Meetings, we hope this Signals will clarify what it is. When the CSAA Board of Directors and the Education Committee first envisioned this meeting several years ago, their intent was for the meeting to include four different components: educational symposia, traditional Mid-Year Meeting agenda, a seminar on how to become/maintain the UL-Listing, and a small Exhibition focused on central station technology. It was also designed to appeal to a more diverse audience-however, still within the central station/call center industry. These meetings and formats intend to give you more "bang for your bucks." At the core of the meeting are the first two components mentioned above, the Educational Symposia and the traditional Mid-Year Meeting agenda. The weekend Educational Symposium is primarily aimed at General Managers and other senior central station staff who would like to have sessions on areas of common management interest. These will take place over the weekend to minimize the amount of time away from work. Owners and CEO's are also welcome to attend these sessions. The Monday and Tuesday sessions are primarily designed for central station/call center owners and operators and will cover topics of legal, financial and strategic nature. The two other components are the "How To Become A UL Listed Central Station: The Easy Way", on Friday and the Exposition, on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
