The Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA) is a trade association that represents companies offering security (alarm) monitoring systems through a central station. It also represents companies that provide services and products to the industry. Our member companies operate central station alarm monitoring systems that have been listed by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) and/or approved by Factory Mutual (FM). Such certification assures customers their insurance companies and their local emergemncy service agencies that CSAA members provide the highest quality and most reliable burglar and fire alarm service available to residential and commercial clients. Central stations have provided burglar and fire alarm protection for over a century and a half. In a central station system, remote detection devices installed in houses and businesses automatically transmit alarm signals to a central office. There, trained operators monitor the system 24 hours a day, record signals, and take appropriate action, such as referring signals to the police or fire authorities. |
