The award, which honors the memory of former CSAA President Stanley C. Lott, is designed to recognize significant contributions to the central station industry. Then-CSAA President Ralph W. Sevinor presented the Award during the President’s Reception at CSAA’s 2001 Annual Meeting in Dana Point, California. "Stan Martin is one of the most well-respected professionals in our industry. We have been fortunate to have his talents for the greater benefit of our profession. I’m delighted to present Stan with this award,” said CSAA President Sevinor. Stan Martin became the first Vice-President of Industry Relations for ADI in January 1994. He has an extensive background in electronics and the alarm industry. Stan began his career with extensive training in electronics that progressed to specialized maintenance and operational duties in the U.S. Air Force, which included two tours in Vietnam. He then joined Rockwell International’s Hybrid Micro Electronics Group and as an applications engineer worked on various high profile projects including the space shuttle. He started and managed his owned successful alarm company for fifteen years before selling the operation and becoming the Executive Director of the National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association for three years. Stan brings to ADI his vast experience working with local, state and national associations and their respective memberships, fostering trust and building relationships. His unique ability to coordinate effective false alarm reduction initiatives between law enforcement and the alarm dealers has been key in maintaining police response to alarm systems. He has earned every major industry award, keeping ADI in the forefront as a company that offers unparalleled support to the industry. In addition to his role with ADI, Stan currently serves as a Lay Pastor in his church. Stan and his family reside in Frisco, Texas. He enjoys swimming and other outdoor activities with his wife Marti and their four children. ____________________________________________ For more information about the Stanley C. "American Security Enhancement Investment Act of 2001" Introduced Senator Frank Murkowski (R-AK) has introduced Senate Bill 1581, a clone of H.R. 2970, the Securing America Investment Act. Although Senator Murkowski has added a couple of provisions relating to physical security, the tax benefits for purchasing electronic security equipment went unchanged. Titled the "American Security Enhancement Investment Act of 2001," the bill would provide businesses the opportunity to expense security equipment that was previously not eligible for expensing. This Act would provide security dealers a valuable sales tool, as well as helping business owners secure their establishments for customers, employees and themselves. It is expected that Senator Murkowski will introduce this bill as an amendment to the senate economic stimulus package as soon as this week!
