The Attrition Project - Please Participate
As we reported in the November 16th's CSAA e-Gram, CSAA has an important new program: The Measurement of Attrition.
John Brady of TRG Associates has composed a very descriptive report on the measurement of attrition--a "must read" for all of you.
In a hand-out distributed at the Annual Meeting in California last month, John said,
"This attrition report is what we hope is the start of a comprehensive dialogue regarding the measurement of customer RMR attrition. This presentation is intended to generate an exchange of ideas among CSAA members that will culminate in a special presentation on attrition in April 2002 at the 2002 CSAA/NAMTSE meeting in Tucson, AZ. The key to the success of this dialogue will be the feedback we receive from the membership. At the April meeting, we will discuss in detail the various methods, policies and incentive plans available to minimize attrition, both gross and net."
This is the first time a comprehensive industry-wide survey has been undertaken. You will be able to compare attrition in your own company to new industry benchmarks.
The success of this program depends upon your participation and coordination of your present attrition monitoring and recording processes, with the definitions provided in the report. By participating, you will contribute to a better understanding of customer attrition and the steps you must take to better manage an activity that erodes the value of your business every day.
Please read the report linked below and implement the suggestions on defining and recording attrition.
