The Lakewood (Colorado) Police Department has just announced a non-response policy without citizen or alarm industry input and Stan Martin, Executive Director of the Security Industry Alarm Coalition (SIAC), has indicated that six or more additional police departments are preparing to do the same.

Without solid citizen input to the elected city representatives, this policy will take effect by default and response will cease. SIAC believes that without strong opposition the other area agencies will follow quickly.

City council members need to hear from interested citizens (alarm dealers as well). SIAC is urging attendance at the City Council meeting Monday, August 9th at 7:00pm. Those wishing to speak must show up and register by 6:30pm. The address is 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, CO.
