Ben Cornett Receives 2006 Stanley C. Lott Award
First Manufacturer to be so Honored

Ben Cornett

The Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA) is pleased to announce that Ben Cornett, president & CEO of Honeywell Security, received the 2006 Stanley C. Lott Award in recognition of his support and leadership through out his many years of involvement with CSAA. The award was presented on Friday, November 3 during the CSAA Annual Meeting in Rome, Italy.

"This is truly a great honor," said Ben Cornett when receiving the Award.  "I thank the CSAA and I feel privileged to be part of such a wonderful industry."

The Lott Award recognizes those individuals whose contributions to CSAA and the industry are exceptional, and is CSAA's highest recognition of leadership and support.

On the night that CSAA President John A. Murphy named Ben Cornett as CSAA’s 2006 Stan Lott Award winner, Bob Bonifas, CSAA past President who was himself the 1995 recipient of the Lott Award, reminded those present of the support that Stanley C. Lott gave to CSAA and the alarm central station monitoring industry during his life.

When making this prestigious award to Ben Cornett, John A. Murphy, CSAA President said: “Ben Cornett exemplifies the spirit of cooperation, support and direct involvement that Stan Lott brought to our industry. Ben has distinguished himself as a man of straightforward candor and true cooperation. His efforts to assist CSAA over the last ten years have been outstanding. We, at CSAA, are honored to make Ben Cornett our 2006 Recipient of the Stan Lott award. Ben Cornett's always-available support mirrors Stan Lott’s memorable effort to assist CSAA. Ben's many contributions include serving for over 6 years on the CSAA Board of Directors and serving as the Chairman of the Associate Members' Liaison Committee. In particular, his willingness to step up and address difficult decisions makes him a most worthy recipient.”

Ben Cornett became president of Honeywell Security in November 2002. Earlier, Ben served as president of ADEMCO Group, executive vice president of sales for ADEMCO Group, and president of ADEMCO Sensor Company (ASC). Before joining ADEMCO in 1995, Ben held the position of president and CEO of Intellisense, and executive vice president of Blue Grass Electronics. Ben’s first entry into the manufacturing business was with Solfan Systems in 1980. The company later became C&K Systems.

In 2004, Ben was also honored by being named to Security Sales and Integration magazine's "Security Industry Hall of Fame" and designated as one of the 25 “people who shaped the industry” over the past 25 years.

Ben now joins a group of very special people, the other recipients of the Stanley Lott Award: Robert Bitton (1991), Patricia and Thomas F. Smith (1993), Robert A. Bonifas (1995), Steve Roth (1996), Robert L. Ohm (1997), Tom Lewin (1998), Isaac Papier (1999), Stanley Martin (2001), William (Bill) Moody (2002), Ralph W.
