CSAA Representation Urgently Needed at NFPA While NFPA will always accept membership applications for its various committees, there is a two-week window from now until very early September in which we can apply for membership as CSAA principal and/or CSAA alternate for the upcoming, 2010 cycle for some important NFPA 72 committees. History has shown the importance of direct participation on these committees and their affect on the Central Station industry. This opportunity should not be missed. Additionally, there is a possibility of seats as principal and alternate on NFPA 720. The NFPA 720 CO Installation Committee has no central station members. To apply to NFPA Technical Committee Membership, visit www.nfpa.org/assets/files/PDF/TCApp.pdf. If you apply to the committee, please fax CSAA a copy of your application to 703-242-4675, so CSAA can add its endorsement of your application. The International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) will hold its IACP Foundation Dinner on October 14, 2007 at 6:30pm at the Doubletree Hotel in New Orleans, Louisiana. The guest speaker will be Presidential candidate and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani. Fontana, California Goes to Verified Response Effective October 1, 2007, the Fontana (California) Police Department will implement a "Verified Response" policy on all burglar alarm calls. Verified Response will not apply to manually activated panic, duress, robbery alarms or medical alarms. These will continue to be treated as high-priority calls.
