The Lockport, N. Y. School Board approved on March 14 a $1.42 million capital project to replace the security systems at district schools. Voters will approve the project in a referendum May 15. If voters approve the project, it will provide schools with an integrated security camera system, an intercom-camera system at the main entrance of each school building, new and improved lighting systems in school parking lots and proximity readers and coded passes that would allow administrators, teachers and non-instructional staff to enter school buildings at designated staff entrances.The project calls for installing 272 security cameras districtwide.
