CSAA Standards Enter ANSI Review Period

Two of the Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA)'s standards have entered the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) public review and comment period stage. The two standards are:

• BSR/CSAA CS-CO-01-200x, Carbon Monoxide Alarm Supervising Station Response
  Comment Period: December 28, 2007 – February 11, 2008
  This standard defines the procedure to be followed by a supervising station when a carbon monoxide detector sends an alarm signal to the supervising station. It defines the response to the premises and for the responding authorities.

  Comment Period: December 28, 2007 – February 11, 2008
  This standard will define minimum practices for the installation and monitoring procedures of burglar alarms by using the addition of video and its transmission from the protected premises for the verification of alarm activity. Its goal is to reduce the instances of false dispatches.
