Carbon Monoxide Supervising Station Response Standard ANSI Approved

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has notified the Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA) that the ANSI/CSAA CS-CO-01-2008, Carbon Monoxide Supervising Station Response Standard has been approved as an ANSI Standard.

This standard defines the procedure to be followed by a supervising station when a carbon monoxide detector sends an alarm signal to the supervising station. It defines the supervising station response to the premises and for the responding authorities.

CSAA Audio Verification Standard for Review
Public Comment Period Ends Nov. 3, 2008

The CSAA Audio Verification Committee has completed its draft process for CSAA-CS-AUD-01-200x, and is pleased to present this initial document of the operational standard for public comment, ending November 3, 2008.

After diligent efforts by the committee members from various segments of the industry, we are confident that this operational standard will eventually become a key element, along with the CS-V-01 Verification Standard, in the effort to reduce false dispatches while enhancing security monitoring.

Please review this draft found at www.csaaul.org/CSAAAudioVerificationProceduresDraftVer202.pdf
and forward us any comments or questions, using the form at www.csaaul.org/Form_for_Proposals_on_CSAA_Standards_Documents.pdf to submit your comments. Be sure to sign the form and submit it to communications@csaaul.org.

After this 45-day public review period which ends November 3, 2008, all comments will be taken into consideration before the standard is brought to the next step with the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

CSAA 2008 Annual Meeting Reminders and Updates

From all indications, it appears that CSAA will have a great turn out for the 2008 CSAA Annual Meeting at the Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman, October 24-29. There is a great line up of speakers and activities planned. Don’t miss your opportunity to sign up. This is one meeting you won’t want to miss!

REGISTRATION: If you have made hotel reservations, but have not yet completed and returned your CSAA meeting registration form, please do so as soon as possible. The meeting registration deadline is Thursday, October 2, 2008. There is no on-site registration for the Annual Meeting.

TOURS AND EXCURSIONS: It’s not too late to sign up for the remaining slots on the 2008 CSAA Annual Meeting Optional Tours and Excursions. Both time slots for the Glass Bottom Hydrofoil Tour are completely sold out. Limited space remains on other tours. Tours must be booked in advance as no tickets will be sold on-site. So sign up today and enjoy the sites of the tropical paradise that is Grand Cayman.

TRANSPORTATION: Due to the small size of Grand Cayman there may not be a sufficient number of taxis to handle airport transfers on peak arrival and departure days. CSAA recommends that you complete a Transportation Form and return it directly to the Ritz-Carlton Destination Services Department to pre-arrange your airport transfers. This is the easiest way to insure your comfortable and timely transfer to and from the Owen Roberts International Airport.

PASSPORTS: The Cayman Islands are British Overseas Territories, part of the British West Indies. Don’t forget to bring your passport. Check now to make sure that your passport is current.

For further information on the meeting, or to download forms, please go to www.csaaul.org and click on the 2008 Annual Meeting icon on the right-hand side of the screen.
