IACP/PSLC Video Verification White Paper Draft

The Private Sector Liaison Committee (PSLC) of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) is currently working on a white paper on the IACP's position on video verification.

The current draft presents video verification as one of many tools available to reduce false dispatches. The document also rejects the idea of requiring remotely monitored video as a prerequisite for police response.

The IACP-PSLC includes members of both the law enforcement and the alarm industry. CSAA is an active member.

ESX 2009 Keynote Speaker Announced
GE Chief Security Officer, Francis X. Taylor will share insights on
local solutions to global threats

Francis X. Taylor, Vice President & Chief Security Officer for the General Electric Company (GE), will provide the keynote address for the 2009 Electronic Security Expo (ESX) on the morning of June 24 at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, MD. His topic is “Local Solutions for Global Security Threats.”

Few know more intimately how the global threat matrix and challenge of security has changed in the 21st century than Frank Taylor. A former head of security for the U.S. Dept. of State, charged with worldwide protection of U.S. embassies, consulates and State Dept. personnel, and a senior advisor to the President on counterterrorism in the wake of the Sept. 11, 2001 World Trade Center and Pentagon attacks, Taylor has unmatched insight into the security problems faced both by America’s governmental institutions and its largest and most critical businesses.

In this eye-opening keynote address Taylor will outline the threats that most occupy the minds and budgets of governmental and corporate security decision makers and recommend strategies for integration and monitoring companies to become security solution providers of choice to these markets.

“GE Security is pleased to sponsor the ESX keynote again in 2009,” said Dean Seavers, president and CEO, GE Security. “Following the 2008 ESX presentation by former NFL great Cris Carter and his brother John regarding the launch and development of Carter Bros., GE’s Frank Taylor will offer his unique insights into what it takes to secure the largest of government institutions and businesses in a threat-burdened world.”
