Table of Contents CSAA will start its annual review of the Membership listing on the CSAA website in mid-May. The information will also be used to create the printed 2008 CSAA Member Directory. One person per member company will receive an e-mail from Grace Fanzo asking you to update your membership listing. We will also provide you with the opportunity to update your listing in the State Directory (North America/Regular), as well as your virtual listing by product (Associate Members and Consultants). Deadline to respond will be May 28, 2008. We hope to see all of our members at this year's CSAA mid-year meeting, the Electronic Security Expo (ESX) held June 23 – June 27, 2008 in Nashville, Tenn. Offered in partnership with the National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association (NBFAA), ESX will be the ideal place to network, while learning how to improve your bottom line. Below is a list of some of the CSAA-related activities.
The "Member-Tell-A-Friend campaign will last until noon Friday, June 27th. In addition to a free registration to the one bringing the most members, your name will be entered to win a $250.00 Visa gift card each time you refer a new member to CSAA. Double your chances by bringing in two, triple your chances by bringing in three! The winners will be announced on June 27, 2008 at ESX. New membership applications MUST be received by noon Friday, June 27th to qualify in this campaign. Call Becky Lane directly at 703-242-4670, Ext. 18 for more information.
The Central Station Evolves In last month’s article, we discussed Edwin Holmes’ entry into the central station burglar alarm business, his contribution to the birth of the telephone industry and the resulting relationship that ensured his profitability well into the twentieth century. Other companies also played a significant role in the development of the central station burglar alarm. This month we will discuss the “other” burglar alarm history – the early history of ADT. Find out what a telegraph operator named Edward Calahan, the stock market and runners had to do with the birth of ADT, by clicking here or by visiting http://www.csaaul.org/BirthofADT.html. |
