The Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA) is proud to announce the creation of its first online encyclopedia (Wiki). The Wiki will be the repository of the state licensing requirements information collected and updated by the CSAA State Licensing Group. The Wiki includes the requirements for licensing in each state, contact information for the appropriate licensing department, continuing education requirements, and other pertinent information. The group met during six months to review and update all the collected information. CSAA staff then developed the Wiki in-house. The Wiki format was chosen to facilitate the collaborative update of the information. The group plans to continue to meet every four months to formally review the information. "I felt honored when I was first approached and very proud to participate in this project," said Bob Brown, Compliance Coordinator at Vector Security. "It was a great learning experience and I was happy to help CSAA by sharing my knowledge. We had a fantastic group, worked very well together, and had a lot of fun completing this project. We all seemed to have a specialty and a fresh and new perspective at looking at licensing laws. Together we were stronger than we would have been individually. I would also like to thank my supervisors, John A. Murphy and Pam Petrow, for giving me the opportunity to participate," added Brown. The participants in the group are Ed Bonifas (Alarm Detection Systems); Bob Brown (Vector Security); Jackie Currier (Rapid Response Monitoring Services); Gary Dawkins (Response Center USA); Josh Garner (AvantGuard Monitoring); Joe Miskulin and George Rosenbaum (both of State Farm); Morgan Hertel (The Command Center Inc.); Ron Petrarca (Electronix Systems Central Station Alarms, Inc.); Frances Reyes (Siemens Building Technology); Kim Urban (The Protection Bureau); and Dawne Vonschmidt (Waste Management). Special thanks go to Vector Security, State Farm Insurance, and Waste Management for providing the majority of the initial information. Access to the wiki will be available to CSAA members only. A subset of the information will be made available to the general public. CSAA invites all of its members to participate in the Wiki project and assist in keeping the information up-to-date. CSAA/TRG Eighth Annual Attrition Study The "Security Industry Attrition Study," sponsored by CSAA and compiled by TRG Associates, heads into its eighth consecutive year as we gather attrition information and statistics from small and large security companies within North America and Europe. The information gathered is used to develop meaningful trend information about a very important operating and valuation dynamic for all security industry participants. The Study is highly confidential as to its individual participants and cost nothing to participate. We are in the midst of gathering 2007 information from companies and would welcome any security management team that tracks its customer loses and resigns to participate this year by submitting your 2007 information. We have gathered attrition results for over $60M in Recurring Monthly Revenue (RMR) in 2006 from companies of all sizes and we are on our way to exceeding $80M for 2007 as new companies continue to join the Study. For previous years results, please visit TRG’s web site at www.TRGAssociates.com. If you should have any questions as to how to participate or need an Attrition Template to use to gather your information, please contact Celia Besore at 703-242-4670, Ext. 16 or communications@csaaul.org or John M. Brady at jbrady@trgassociates.com. Three Reasons to Visit the CSAA Booth # 601 at ESX Visit Booth 601 on Thursday, June 26 or Friday, June 27 and ...
