Formal Public Review on Revision of ANSI-SIA CP-01
Comments Due 10/19/2009

The Security Industry Association (SIA)'s ANSI/SIA CP-01-2007 Control Panel Standard – Features for False Alarm Reduction is now under formal public review.

Before the revision is accepted by ANSI, SIA has requested a formal comment period ending on October 19, 2009. This standard details the recommended design features and settings for security system control panels along with associated arming and disarming devices to reduce the incidence of false alarms.

The revised standard, like its precursor, is intended for use by manufacturers in the design of control panels and alarm signal receivers. It is also intended for reference by all affected parties, including security system installers, specifiers, end users; central stations; manufacturers of central station products, such as receivers and automation software; and local authorities.

The version of the standard undergoing review (ANSI/SIA CP-01 -20xx) can be downloaded from the SIA Standards Control Panel Working Group web site at: http://www.siaonline.org/WorkArea/showcontent.aspx?id=5962.

Comments should be directed to the Manager of SIA Standards, Joe Gittens (jgittens@siaonline.org).  Please use the following form (http://www.siaonline.org/WorkArea/showcontent.aspx?id=5610) when submitting comments.
