URGENT: Additional NFPA Issue Requiring Letter As we mentioned in yesterday's CSAA Signals, there is another NFPA issue that requires your assistance, NFPA Proposal 365/368. What is 72-365/368? Simply stated, Proposal 365/368 was presented at the meeting in Minneapolis and it would have deleted from NFPA 72 Secs. 5.2.2.2 & 3, which are the requirements for Central Station Service and that of certification and placarding. This measure was resoundingly defeated in Minneapolis, however, the proponents of 72-365/368 are appealing that defeated vote to the Standards Council. Due to NFPA's approval process, we need you to write a second letter to NFPA indicating that you are OPPOSED to proposal 72-365/368 from Messrs Decker and Dumais. Our argument is that the program of Central Station Service, certification and placarding provides for a minimum level of requirements to ensure that the system and the supervising station will work the first time and every time. This requirement is in the interest of life safety and in ensuring the reliability of these systems. How can you help?
