CSAA Announces Second Reciprocal Affiliate Membership
This is the second direct affiliation with an alarm monitoring organization outside the U.S., which is the result of both CSAA's effort, as well as direct communications from many other countries. According to CSAA Executive Vice President Steve Doyle, "There have been a significant number of cross-cultural inquiries lately and the ISIO has a very unique perspective on some common problems. We are looking forward to an open dialogue with them on these common issues, as well as mutual marketing opportunities." To find out more about ISIO, visit www.isio.org.il. WE WANT YOU... We are forming this committee to give YOU, the attendees, input on what you want to see, hear, discuss and learn at these seminars. The only commitment we ask of you is to participate in a few conference calls a year, meet for breakfast during the seminar and be open to bringing your ideas for topics and/or speakers to the table. If you are interested in serving on this committee to help plan the program and format of the Operations Management Seminars, please contact Suzanne George at (703) 242-4670 x15 or meetings@csaaul.org. The first conference call is on Wednesday, February 27th at 1:00pm EST. The phone number to call to participate on the call is (703) 736-7449; the confirmation number is: 5840398. Please join us on this call to put together the program for the May 19-21, 2002 meeting hosted by Coastal One at the Embassy Suites in Boca Raton, Florida. NAMTSE 2002 will feature two outstanding presentations on central station legal issues. On Sunday, April 28, the security industry’s most experienced and respected legal minds will discuss the requirements and the process of retaining and managing written and electronic documents for all aspects of central station business. The presentation, "Why Must I Keep All This Paper and For How Long?" will cover documents relating to customer losses, employee disputes, as well as those mandated by the government. Document retention and management is an important, bewildering and often misunderstood function, but every alarm company must have a program in place or expose themselves to serious risk. This seminar will provide you with answers to your "what, where, how, and for how long" questions. The panelists are Alan Pepper, Mitchell, Silberberg & Knupp LLP, Benjamin Dickens, Blooston, Mordkofsky, Dickens, Duffy & Prendergast, Jeff Gorelick, Carroll, Burdick & McDonough, LLP, David Chanin, Tannebaum & Chanin, LLP, R. Scott Caulkins, Cohen, Gettings & Dunham, P.C. On Monday, April 29, Eric Pritchard, Tannenbaum & Chanin, LLP, will discuss "The Dos and Don’ts of Video Sales, Installation and Monitoring." Many central stations are considering selling, installing and monitoring video systems or are already offering these services. This seminar on this rapidly-evolving area of the law will provide you with information on what your company should and should not do when selling, installing or monitoring video. NOTE: The date and time of some of the NAMTSE 2002 seminars on Saturday and Sunday have changed. Please visit http://64.226.207.204/NAMTSE/NANTSE02printableevents.asp
